Frequently Asked Questions

About the Practice

01.

What is the INTOUCH Framework?

The INTOUCH Framework (Integrated Nervous System Training for Optimal Understanding, Co-Regulation & Healing) is a neuroscience-based, trauma-informed approach developed by Jessica E. Ferreira. It integrates Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, Compassionate Inquiry, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Systems Theory to help individuals and professionals understand and regulate the nervous system as the foundation for healing and growth.

02.

What makes your approach different from traditional therapy?

Traditional therapy often focuses on thoughts and behaviours alone. The INTOUCH approach places the nervous system at the centre of treatment, helping clients retrain physiological responses to stress, trauma, and relationships—moving beyond symptom management toward genuine regulation, connection, and healing.

03.

Who does Jessica work with?

Jessica works with adults over 25 years old seeking therapy and with professionals seeking supervision, training, or consultancy. Clients include adults experiencing trauma, mental health issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, burnout, or emotional dysregulation, as well as helping professionals wanting to integrate nervous-system-centred practice.
